It's lovely, don't you think?
Another wood turning project in the works is an unusually shaped walnut bowl that isn't quite finished yet, but I had to share photos of it with you.
From a small piece of cherry wood, Marshall created a sugar spoon, turning the handle on his lathe and then hand carving the bowl. I love the concentric rings in the bowl!
There's something so tactile about wood and when the sanding and finishing is done, it has a wonderful shine and glow to it. This post has made me realize that I'm missing my looms. I think it's time to start thinking about measuring out a warp and to begin a new weaving project using my favorite wood weaving tools.
Here's hoping that you have a great fiber/fabric day,
Judy

Judy, you are one lucky lady to have such a talented hubby who makes such wonderful things for you. I love the feel of polished wood. I love the bowl and spoons. Great work
Just gorgeous! My son has recently bought himself a new laithe and is in the process of learning the wood-turners trade. Had a lovely wooden plate from him. To say it was only his 4th project it was wonderful...I'm hoping for a wooden dinner service! Don't think I'll hold my breath though! :0)
Oh, what beautiful work! There's something about treen that really speaks, isn't there.
