First Project of 2024
The first weaving project of 2024-
three thread herringbone twill kitchen towels
woven with a blend of 8/2 cotton and 22/2 cottolin yarns from my stash.
I’m weaving the towels on my Louët Jane loom,
which is such a pleasure to weave on.
I put on a warp long enough for sampling plus three kitchen towels.
I’m weaving the first towel with two yellows, one orange and a bright turquoise yarn.
I decided to change it up a bit this time,
alternating three thread herringbone twill with turquoise stripes in plain weave.
Don’t you just love the interplay of the yarns across the cloth?
Weaving is such a rewarding hobby.
2024 is going to be a great year,
I just know it.
For the weavers out there-
- Three Thread Herringbone pattern is from page 24 in A Handweaver’s Pattern Book

- Warp length of 4 yards (3.65 m)

- 530 total ends with two floating
Weave on,
