Playing With Fiber-Using My Blending Board
I’ve been dreaming about a turquoise sweater/vest/cardigan.
So I brought out my blending board,
dug through my fiber supply and I started making rolags to spin.
The wool on the right is Cormo from a farm in Parma, Idaho.
I bought several Cormo fleeces years ago,
washed it in small bundles and then dyed some of it.
It’s very soft.
I’m blending Polwarth, Merino, Tussah silk, baby alpaca and Cormo.
This is a small bundle of Cormo wool.
I washed it that way to keep the tips aligned
which in turn makes it easier to comb.
It took me a long time to tie up all of those bundles,
but now I’m really glad that I did.
I’m using a dog brush to open up the tips of the wool.
Do you notice the fine crimp in the super soft wool?
It’s such a joy to work/play with.
Thanks, Dan, for sharing your beautiful wool with me!
One rolag sorted, more to come!
Spin on,
Judy
